Description

The Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC) provides gridded gauge-analysis products derived from quality controlled station data. This is the centennial GPCC Full Data Monthly Product of monthly global land-surface precipitation based on the ~86,000 stations world-wide that feature record durations of 10 years or longer. The data coverage per month varies from ~20,000 (previous version 15,000) to more than 52,000 stations.

This product is available on four grids with varying resolution. This is the full reanalysis on a 2.5 degree latitude x 2.5 degree longitude global grid (144 x 72). It covers from 1891 to end of 2020.

This dataset is  updated at irregular time intervals subsequent to significant data base improvements. Precipitation anomalies at the stations are interpolated and then superimposed on the GPCC Climatology v2022 in the corresponding resolution.

The data is not bias-corrected for gauges errors, but estimates on these are also provided.

More information and a visualization tool for the dataset is available on the GPCC website.
